A few tips, and a Very Serious Decision to make

Things are busy round Cashmerette towers, but I can proudly announce that Christmas sewing is entirely done! Come December 26th, expect a bunch of posts of the finished objects…
In the meantime, I’ve managed to trace and cut my pattern pieces for The Coat, and hope to get some of the muslin done this weekend. I’m also planning on taking apart half of the coat I’m copying to have a bit of a nosey into the innards (why half? Because by leaving the other half of it you can make sure you still remember how it’s constructed when it’s all together!)
One other crazy fun piece of news is that Fashion Sewing Supply had a sale and WOOP! Lots of interfacing for me. To date, it’s all been very messily crammed into a basket, but as I’ve started buying more very-similar-looking products I figured it was time to get organised.
That organisation came in the form of 2.5 gallon Hefty bags, which worked pretty well!

And ready for the shelf:

One other exciting thing that only sewists will relate to… Check out this thread rack! Phwoar! Never again will I be lazy and spend hours sewing things up with the wrong colour just because I can’t be bothered to walk 3 blocks to Grey’s Fabrics and Notions.

And finally. I’ve had short hair for a really, really long time. But I thought I would experiment with what it looks like up, courtesy of half a can of hairspray and an awful lot of bobby pins So, the question, dear readers. Do I tolerate 2 years of “in betweeny” hair, or should I keep to my (spiky) roots?

Your hair looks beautiful up – really showcases your face (which is the goal, no?). I like the colors in your hair as well – is the question about the color or the length?

Love the thread rack! What a great buy. g
