An Appleton Dress Class

Hello lovely people! I have two quick and fun announcements for you today:

First up, I’m teaching an Curvy Wrap Dress Weekend Sewing Intensive class at Workroom Social in Brooklyn! Come and join me on May 14/15 2016 (10am – 6pm) and make yourself the ultimate stylish-yet-comfortable Appleton dress.

You’ll get help on fit and construction, there will be snacks, and I have no doubt that a good time will be had by all. It’s aimed at beginners who want to learn more about knits and perhaps even make their first dress, and intermediate sewists looking to expand their skills. So, if you fancy a 2 day sewing vacation and a weekend of fun, you can check out more details about the class and register here.

You could be as happy as these ladies in your Appleton!

Second, with Valentine’s Day coming up, the mind inevitably turns to: what looks pretty damn hot, and yet still allows you to eat chocolate cake for dessert? The answer, my dears, is the Appleton Dress Polka Dot Kit dress!

So to help you get ready, it’s 20% off using the code VALENTINES until February 14th 2016. (Already got the pattern but want the fabric? No worries, there’s a fabric-only kit here).

And for all my single ladies… why, it’s the perfect Galentine’s Day outfit/self-gift! Leslie FTW. My life hero. Clever, over-enthusiastic women who are absurdly dedicated to their friends will always have my heart. Obvs I can never meet Amy Poehler because if she isn’t 100% like Leslie my heart would be crushed.

Wish I were in America – come teach a class in sunny Australia 🙂

I wonder how easy it would be for your online store to offer fabric bundles with and without patterns – I’ve had my eye on a few of your kits but would only want the fabric, not multiple patterns.

    1. Hi Liz! So my Appleton fabric kits are also now available as either fabric-only bundles, or with fabric by the yard (until we run out of fabric! Sometimes there will be a handful of kits left but no yardage). Let me know if there’s another one you’re interested in, and I can sort something out for you 🙂

The code doesn’t seem to work with just the kit. It says it’s not valid 🙁

    1. It’s fixed now – sorry about that. Now it will work for both kits, with and without the pattern!

I’m in the opposite position – have fabric but no pattern. Guess I’ll need to wait for the next sale! (The Canadian dollar is so low that the exchange is tough to swing for me right now.)

I live in the UK so was hoping for just the pattern as the fabric will take too long and cost too much to be shipped here! Can we get just the pattern with the code please?

Have you read Amy’s book? Or better, listened to her read it while sewing? She’s maybe even more amazing than Leslie.

Wow! A dress pattern that flatters every plus sized figure. Every woman in the pictures that you posted looks fabulous. Everything about the dress is flattering to the plus size figure. I am so delighted that I came across your blog (via the Smuggler’s Daughter blog). I am newly inspired to learn how to sew clothing. I have been curious, even purchased a couple of patterns but all I have to do is open the pattern and start looking at all the pieces and instructions and that’s all she wrote, folks!

Let me know what you think!
