What’s more, I have a $50 Mood Gift Certificate to give away – just tell me in the comments below this post which Mood fabric you’d use to make an Upton Dress and I’ll pick a winner at random (enter by July 2nd 2016 11.59pm EST). Good luck!

I’m loving your bird dress, but as I don’t think I ought to copy, I think this http://www.moodfabrics.com/fashion-fabrics/cotton/sateen/navy-polka-dotted-floral-printed-stretch-cotton-sateen-114164.html will make a pretty upton. Would need to drink cocktails whilst wearing though.

I’m generally not one for novelty prints, preferring plain or abstract prints but I’d have to go with this one: http://www.moodfabrics.com/fashion-fabrics/cotton/poplin/red-black-white-playing-cards-combed-cotton-poplin-308420.html I’ve been looking for a card print for ages (I’m a bridge player)

  3. feministgina says:

That is a very tough question, but I’ve been wanting to try the Liberty silk/cotton voile, and this print is gorgeous: http://www.moodfabrics.com/fashion-fabrics/cotton/prints/liberty-of-london-alma-blue-red-orange-silk-cotton-voile-307566.html

  4. Meggan says:

I feel like all my favorites are sold out! This one is especially fun – a shibori-style print: http://www.moodfabrics.com/fashion-fabrics/cotton/prints/indigo-white-abstract-stretch-cotton-sateen-112552.html

I would love to get….the black and white bunny print cotton…or a purple and teal geometric print… Or the multi color butterfly print. I’ve bought a lot of synthetics recently I’m looking forward to getting some natural fibers. Great blog!!!! thanks for your efforts and your amazing creations.

  8. Samantha says:

Oh wow, Mood has such a great selection it was hard to choose just one. I did narrow it down and have to say I am totally smitten with this 100% silk crepe in a bold abstract print that is just stunning with all its colors set on black.

  10. Ginger says:

I would use the Red/White Polka Dotted Stretch Rayon Woven

My Upton Dress would be made from Heather Blue Floral Rayon Jersey Print. This fabric looks so comfortable and easy to wear. The pattern is awesome and could be casual or dressed up…perfect for me!

  14. Katy M says:

Love your print! I’d use the Dark Midnight Star Printed Blended Cotton Chambray x

  15. Ruby says:

The linen blend with gold threads and large abstract flower print. I love that fabric and keep thinking about what I would turn it into.

  16. Emily Handler says:

Thanks for the giveaway! This summer I’m on a crinkled fabric kick, so would it be crazy to make an Upton out of something like this crinkled organdy? (http://www.moodfabrics.com/malibu-blue-white-candy-striped-crinkled-organdy-310891.html) or crinkled silk chiffon? (http://www.moodfabrics.com/charcoal-navy-blue-floral-silk-crinkled-chiffon-306927.html)

  17. Lee says:

I love this navy and white print -White/Navy Chain-linked Hearts Printed on a Stretch Cotton Poplin

  18. turnofcloth says:

Ooh – a giveaway! It is hard to pick just ONE fabric for an Upton; I want to make them ALL!!!! However, if push comes to shove, I believe I’d go with this lovely Liberty print http://www.moodfabrics.com/liberty-of-london-alma-blue-green-red-silk-cotton-voile-307500.html. Thanks for the giveaway chance!

  19. I like the mauve rose floral cotton poly chambray. Pinks and corals are my colors and I hardly have any clothes in those colors.

  20. Emily C says:

I would use the Gray/Blue/Purple Floral Cotton Poplin for the skirt, with a coordinating solid for the top.

  21. Rebecca H says:

I would like to try some bamboo in a garment. I’m pretty tired of sewing something up and it never fits and I have to do some adding of fabric. The patterns are never true to size for me. I’m wanting to make a few tunics.

  22. Suzanne says:

Since I can’t post ALL the awesome fabrics I would like to use, I choose this chambray. It looks yummy. http://www.moodfabrics.com/fashion-fabrics/cotton/prints/dark-midnight-star-printed-blended-cotton-chambray-308441.html

  23. I love the Waterfall gauzy textured woven cotton! I just discovered you and Mood City through Bloglovin and am so glad I did!

Such a hard decision! I’d lean towards their mustard floral printed cotton voile. http://www.moodfabrics.com/mustard-floral-printed-cotton-voile-307059.html

  25. Charlotte says:

How could I possibly decide? I was thinking of a rayon print…then a neoprene……then a polished cotton…….finally, I think it would be a denim with a slight stretch. Perfect for any season.

  26. d says:

I love birds! Your dress is so pretty I wouldn’t want to make a dress of any other fabric.

  27. Samantha says:

Oh my gosh – you sure know how to get us dreaming of a new dress! Love that Upton – would make a navy bird version inspired by yours out of this cotton poplin:

I would love to make my Upton in this gorgeous fabric:
    http://www.moodfabrics.com/black-beige-yellow-purse-straps-printed-on-a-crepe-de-chine-311682.html

-and maybe do the waistband in all black for contrast 🙂

  31. ibijau says:

oooh, so many pretty fabrics! and looking at them all sure was a nice way to improve a day that didn’t start too well. In the end, I think this fabric would make a rather nice Upton: http://www.moodfabrics.com/black-multicolored-striped-floral-cotton-poplin-114141.html

  32. Kate says:

How do you choose? Hypothetical shopping is harder than real shopping! I think I would want to make a sunshine yellow Upton. It’s so happy looking and the perfect shade to brighten your day.

Hey, I recognize those birdies!! ^^ For reasons obscure even to me, dresses with waistbands feel like autumn…and since twill is one of my top 5 favorite fabrics to work with, maybe something like this? http://www.moodfabrics.com/navy-checkered-stretch-cotton-twill-114178.html

I am in love with this scuba blue medium weight linen (http://www.moodfabrics.com/scuba-blue-medium-weight-linen-310681.html). For me, just about everything should be made from linen when summer comes around.

  41. Sarah De Visser says:

I’m really loving the emerald linen… so pretty!

Let me know what you think!
