These are the first jeans I have ever made and the fit is fantastic. The pattern instructions were excellent, easy to follow and clearly illustrated. I love my Ames jeans and wear them all the time.
So far things are going nicely. It is a Very compressive pattern thanks
I have an hourglass shape with larger than average thighs and calves so I started out with the pear shaped straight leg. They fit me like skinny jeans. I will wear them, but it wasn't what I was going for. The second pair I just cut the legs wider & am pretty happy with them. I also did a fit test before top stitching on the legs & center seam so I could easily take in or out problem areas throughout the hips & pelvis. On me there is a weird bulge in the back seam just below the yoke but that is easy enough to take in and eliminate.
Love the pattern, it took me a while to get the right fit,so I just kept making them, finally have 3 pair that fit perfect, one pair I had twisted legs, so I cut them and have cute bumuda shorts! love the patern, will say I also love the jeans course, which was wonderful!
The pattern is well drafted, the instructions are clear and I can't believe that I just made a pair of jeans that fit with minimal alterations.
