Make a statement in the Upton Dress, a fit and flare dress tailored for curves with cup sizes C-H. Finding fitted bodices can be hard when you have big boobs, but this gorgeous dress will fit your bust beautifully as well as the rest of your body—no major adjustments required.

The Upton Dress puts the design in your hands, as you choose from a scooped or V-neck, high or low back, and a gored skirt or deep, dramatic box-pleats. The pattern features a fully lined bodice (with a cleverly clean-finished zipper), and hidden pockets for every eventuality.

SIZING

12 to 32, in three cup sizes (C/D, E/F, G/H); includes 40-62” bust and 42-62” hip. Find your size in seconds using our size calculator.

RECOMMENDED FABRIC

Main fabric: Woven fabric such as cotton, linen, double gauze or upholstery fabric. Heavier fabrics will give a more structured look.

Lining: Lightweight woven such as cotton lawn, rayon bemberg or silk crepe de chine.

Optional: interfacing for waistband (if using a lightweight fabric).

NOTIONS

Universal needle, 22" invisible zip.

According the measurements I was one size. Infact they said if should have been tight and it was 4 sizes to big

Love it

Haven't sewn in at least a decade. I have a ton of vintage fabrics my mother brought back from travels to China and Scotland. I used a 50-yo shantung silk and it worked beautifully for this dress. I'm pretty sure my issues, especially with grading sizes, is more due to operator error than anything to do with the pattern! I want to join the monthly club, just trying to justify the $$$ right now.

Thank you Cashmerette for making patterns that fit! Having conquered the "Harrison" shirt, I have moved onto the Upton. It has quickly become my "tried and true" pattern. I've completed two uptons - one in a drapey rayon print, and a party dress in silk taffeta (pictured). I made both with princess seams, which I have found easier to fit. Taking the online fitting courses has helped me work through issues with confidence and improve the fit. My adjustments include lowering the bust apex and waist about 1 inch. I particularly like how this pattern looks in a crisper fabric like the taffeta. I plan to make a (not too fluffy) petticoat to wear under my Uptons when I feel like a little more defined shape in the skirt. I've gotten some great compliments on both my Uptons and will be cutting out a third this weekend. I can't say enough good things about Cashmerette and their products. After years of fitting disasters and frustration, I've got my sewing mojo back. I feel like nothing can stop me!

Fabulous pattern and easy to make.

I bought this pattern as my daughter wanted this style for her wedding dress.
It was relatively easy to make and the results were amazing. Simple to follow instructions and lots of diagrams meant that the dress was completed very quickly. I would make this style again for a less formal event.
