Rivermont dress for work

Super pattern as always from Cashmerette, needed a simple, comfortable dress for work and it certainly delivers. An easy quick make that I have made three of to date. Every goes together beautifully, with very clear instructuons. I plan to make the pretty top option next. Cashmerette patterns have been a game changer for me - not even kidding!

Nice dress. Easy to put together.

Beautiful dress. Flattering. . Pleasure to sew. I’m a little under 5 feet 10 inches and I lengthened the bodice by 1.5 inches. My upper bust measurement is 39 inches and my hips are 45 inches. I chose size 14 for the bodice and size 16 for the skirt. I would like to make this pattern again in a print. Next time I might lengthen the sleeve to elbow length and might do a full-bicep adjustment. This was my first Cashmerette pattern. I will try more!

Love this dress!

I'd consider myself a beginner to intermediate sewist. I sewed this dress for myself out of a heavyweight ponte fabric (Robert Kaufman). It turned out great and the pattern is very carefully drafted! The sew-along blog posts are very helpful. I think I may take it in an inch or two in the hips and skirt--usually a straight 24 fits me perfectly for Cashmerette styles, but this one is just a smidge big on me. If I sew it again, I might go down to a 22. I think I will also topstitch the collar to make the lining lie flatter. But other than those tweaks, this dress turned out great and I highly recommend it!

Absolutely loved the pattern

I've been sewing for a very long time. This pattern was easy to follow and easy to modify. I love how the dress fits. I look great in it! I will definitely be making more Cashmerette clothing!

Need a second try

The patterns instructions are easy and straightforward as with all Cashmerett patterns.
This was my first foray into sewing with knits so any mistakes are mine not the patterns. I do recommend you follow the advice and make the pocket lining of a lighter weight fabric, I have these unsightly bulges but it's a learning opportunity.
Making a muslin is imperative especially if you are new to knits, grading between sizes and doing forward shoulder adjustments are more detail oriented with knits.
I will give the pattern a second try, I really want a LBD with pockets!!!

Great top!

This went together very easily, even with adding length in the bodice!
