Beautiful Dress

I think this is a beautiful dress. I now have the pattern and want to make it as pictured and also to make the black dress as pictured using the Grafton Dress Bodice with the skirt of the Dewey Dress. Can’t wait to make it.

Dewey dress is fantastic!

I purchased the Dewey dress pattern to make a "fancy" dress for our 50th wedding anniversary party. I started with my sloper and used a gray jersey for a trial. I ended up with a wearable muslin with very few alterations to the pattern. I used a size 24 bust graded to 26 waist and 32 hip.
I am 5'6" tall. The changes I made to the pattern : raised the armscye by 1", & lengthened the shoulder by 1". This kept my bra from peeking out. Starting with the sloper gave me confidence to use gold lame' for the final dress and it was amazing how well it fit!
The party was held in Sept. 2024 and I have never gotten so many compliments on a garment I made! The instructions were clear & concise, and alterations were minimal. The "burrito" construction method on a bodice was new to me and was a great technique to finish the armscyes and neckline. Taking the time to make the trial dress was well worth the time, and I ended up with two dresses, one casual, the other dressy! Loved every minute of the construction!

Beautiful Dress

I made it out of stretch red velvet and love the style. I am less happy about my alterations for fitting. I am looking forward to the new sloper class which should make my alterations more consistent and easy.

Stylish and Comfortable

So happy with this dress. Feels like such an achievement! When I started out last year with Cashmerette Club, I was so fearful about sewing with knit fabric and now I've made a beautiful dress. Such a lovely design with the pleats. Also great sew along video on YouTube! I really appreciated the tutorials and the instructions that always accompany the patterns.
