Pattern format

Elevate your style with the Montrose Top, designed for curves with cup sizes C – H, and standard and full bicep sleeve options!

Despite their simplicity, woven tops can often be hard to fit if you have big boobs, ending up too tight at the bust or baggy at the shoulders, or feeling restrictive when you move. The Montrose was designed specifically for bigger boobs to give you a fantastic fit, and provide a blank slate for you to express your personal style.

This timeless pattern features two variations: View A is a scoop neck blouse with short sleeves and curved back yoke, while View B shows off lace fabrics with a jewel neck, elbow length sleeves, and keyhole back. Whether you choose a delicate, embroidered tulle, stand-out lace, or flirty floral cotton voile, the Montrose Top is sure to be a hit!

This Cashmerette pattern includes:

  • Cup sizes from C to H
  • A sizing calculator which will tell you exactly which size to make
  • A beautifully illustrated and detailed instruction booklet, to guide you no matter your sewing level
  • A full photo sewalong on our blog with tips and techniques that go beyond the instruction booklet

Review of Montrose Top 12-32

I am new to sewing Cashmerette patterns having recently completed the sloper school. The pattern itself is very easy to make and very straightforward. I have made two muslins now, hopefully I have a fit that I like to use it as a regular for making blouses. My difficulty is that I am making the size that I made in my sloper and figured it would be not snug fitting due to the measurements given for final garment ease. There is no ease, it is as snug as the sloper. I am adding ease and hope this next try will be a good adjustment.

Hi Debra! We're reading out to you directly to help you nail the fit on your Montrose :)

Montrose Top- OMG it fits my shape

The first time in 30 years I can wear a top that accommodates my bust/ height ratio. I’m a shorty with rather large boobs: buying off the rack tops are an insult.
I learnt how to print the pattern at home: have excellent guidance from Cashermette to do a full bust adjustment.
I made 5 Montrose tops for work: I didn’t need to readjust, pull down, pull up while wearing. I looked pretty damn amazing at 66 yo.
Thank you Cashermette.

Comfy and easy to sew

Very nice pattern
Only one suggestion is that it would be nice to have a rounded shaped hem as the straight hem is not very flattering on me.

Great fit

The Montrose was my first Cashmerette pattern and the fit was great on my second attempt. Bust 18G, waist graded to 22 and hips to 24. I had to lower the arm scye slightly and also increased the shoulder to bust apex length by 1,5cm. I prefer a longer top and increased the length by 5cm.

Easy to sew and easy to wear!

This is the first Cashmerette pattern that I have tried, it did not disappoint! Taped together easily, I liked the different options it offered, instructions were very easy to follow. I have made 2 so far and already have a 3rd planned. It make for a dressier blouse rather than a casual top. I have done one in lace, very nice!
