What a refreshing experience! I picked a size based on my measurements, cut & sewed it exactly as designed, and IT FIT! I bought a couple more of Cashmerette's patterns afterward, and I'm actually excited to start making them, rather than anxious over what fitting nightmare awaits me. Thanks Jenny & crew for making patterns that keep the joy in sewing!
When my mother-in-law passed away, I needed something special yet fast to wear to the funeral. What caught my attention was the belt - in my opinion, it’s a design detail that gives the dress more structure and a dressier look. The dress came together quickly because it’s well designed with clear, easy instructions. I’m a quilter, and have only been sewing garments about two years. The pattern challenged me without overwhelming or frustrating my beginner skills. The final garment fit perfectly, another plus because I usually have to make shoulder or neckline adjustments. I felt so chic at the funeral; my husband said I was the best dressed woman at the funeral and he was very proud that I had made the dress myself. The dress was also very comfortable! I’ve already made a second one for winter and boots!
I love the fit of this pattern and how it is so easy to adapt by changing sleeve and dress length and neckline style. And you can make a version for all seasons. Thank you!
Here’s another wonderful and versatile pattern that will be a staple in my wardrobe. I made the tunic length, long sleeve, turtle neck Pembroke out of a thick merino. It fitted beautifully as all Cashmerette Patterns do. On my first top, I made the size I measured in to but it just felt too snug and fitting for my liking. Seeing all the pictures of the models, I think they all looked a bit snug too so I opted to go up a size and also up a bust size. It now fits beautifully and is the start of 3 or 4 I want to make that will be great staples in my winter wardrobe. Come summer, I may make the dress version too.
