Susan Khalje—one of the world’s most renowned couture sewing teachers—is running a FREE couture skirt class exclusively for Cashmerette Club All Access members.
She's going to teach us how to make a couture skirt using the Cashmerette Club Elmwood Skirt pattern. She’ll cover making and fitting a muslin, underlining, hand-basting for a perfect fit, installing a hand-picked zipper, creating a grosgrain waist stay, and so much more—skills you'll use for the rest of your sewing life.
The full recorded class will be available later this spring for All Access members, but there's also the chance to join Susan LIVE for the entire course!

Who can take the Susan Khalje couture sewalong?
This sewalong is exclusively available for Cashmerette Club All Access members.
Is it a recorded or live class?
There are two ways to join this sewalong:
1. Watch the recorded sewalong. In spring, we’ll launch the full sewalong as recorded sessions, which all Cashmerette Club All Access members can watch from home, at any time. Go at your own pace, watch and re-watch and hone your couture skills!
2. Join live! We also have the exclusive opportunity for 25 All Access members to join Susan live on Zoom during the sewalong recordings, to go through the process together, ask questions, and get feedback on your Elmwood.
How do I apply to join live?
In order to join live, you need to be able to commit to attending the 6 sessions, which will take place on Wednesday evenings at 7–8:30pm Eastern Time, on February 4, 11, 18, 25, and March 4 and 11.

What sewing level do I need to be to join live?
The couture sewalong is suitable for sewists who are at least confident beginner level. You don’t need to be familiar with couture techniques - Susan will teach you that! - but you do need to be confident using your sewing machine and basic fitting skills are a bonus. You should have made a fitted skirt with a zipper before.
What time commitment is it to join live?
You will need to gather your supplies and make your first muslin (following Susan’s guidance, which will be sent on January 19) before the first class on February 4th. Then, you’ll need to be able to attend all 6 live sessions on Wednesday evenings at 7–8:30pm Eastern Time, on February 4, 11, 18, 25, and March 4 and 11. By keeping up with the classes, you should have a completed couture Elmwood Skirt by the end of the sewalong!
What equipment do I need to join live?
To join live you need to be able to use Zoom on your computer with a stable internet connection. You will be sent a supplies list (including where to purchase) which will include fashion fabric, unbleached muslin, silk organza, lining fabric, grosgrain ribbon, basting needles and thread, and a 7” zipper.
Which pattern will we be using? Can I use a different one?
This sewalong uses the Cashmerette Club Elmwood Skirt, a pencil skirt style which is part of the All Access pattern library. You can use any length or style of the Elmwood. It is not possible to use other patterns for this sewalong.
What feedback will I be able to get from Susan Khalje?
Club members who join live will be able to get feedback from Susan Khalje during the 9 hours of filming.
After that, and for Club members watching the recorded sessions, you’ll be able to get further help and feedback from the Cashmerette team.
If I’m not chosen for one of the 25 live spots, will I have another opportunity?
Every All Access member will be able to watch the Susan Khalje couture sewalong recording at any time, when it launches in the spring. The opportunity to join live is a one-off event, and at this stage we don’t plan to offer it again in the future.

How do I join the Club?
It's easy! Simply choose your plan, and add it to your cart.
Once you complete your checkout, you'll be able to log into your Cashmerette account and access all of the sewing goodies available at your plan level.
How do I know if Cashmerette Club is right for me?
If you're a sewist who is size 0-32 and cup sizes C-H, and you want to build your dream wardrobe that fits beautifully, then the Cashmerette Club is for you! You'll benefit from gorgeous monthly patterns, expert fit advice, connecting with a worldwide group of curvy sewists, and more.

How will I be billed?
Cashmerette Club is a membership program with monthly and yearly billing options.
If you'd like to pay on a monthly basis (cancel anytime), you can sign up for the Base or Plus tiers.
If you want the best value and access to the entire library of Club patterns no matter when you signed up, you can join the All Access tier, which is billed on an annual basis.
How do I upgrade my membership?
To change Club plans, you'll need to cancel your existing membership and create a new one.
Step 1: Cancel your current membership
Log into your account, then go to the account management page. Scroll down to the section called "Status" and click the "cancel membership" link in red on the right.
Step 2: Sign up for All Access
Come back to this page and your new plan to your cart, and complete the checkout. You'll then have access to all of the benefits that come with your new membership.
How do I access my Club benefits?
Once you’ve joined the Club, you’ll be able to log in to your Cashmerette account (the same one you use to make your purchases on our website) and access all of your Club content through the member dashboard. You’ll also be sent an email every month with direct links to all that month’s content.
I'm new to PDF patterns. How do I use them?
Club patterns are digital patterns that you can download instantly and not have to pay a penny for shipping. They include print-at-home files that you can print and tape together, as well as A0 files that you can send to a copyshop to print for you.

Can I purchase a Club pattern without a membership?
The only way to get one of the Club patterns is to join Cashmerette Club!
If you want to purchase only this month's pattern, you can sign up at the Base or Plus level, download the pattern, and then cancel your membership.
If you want a Club pattern from a previous month, you'll have to sign up at the All Access level.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Of course! You can cancel at any time from your membership account page, and you won't be charged again at the next renewal (monthly for Base & Plus, annually for All Access).
Meet Jenny, Your Club Leader
Cashmerette Club is led by Jenny Rushmore, best-selling author and founder of Cashmerette.
Jenny has been a pioneer of the curvy and plus-size sewing world since 2014 when she co-founded the Curvy Sewing Collective, and 2015, when she founded Cashmerette, the first sewing brand specializing in curves with cup sizes in C-H.
Since then, Jenny has taught plus size and curvy sewing and fitting around the world, and written the best-selling book "Ahead of the Curve", as well as the first learn-to-sew book for plus size sewists, "Sewing the Curve".
