RECOMMENDED FABRIC
Lightweight but crisp woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, cotton poplin, lightweight linen.
NOTE: Choose your fabric based on how defined you would like your ruffles. If you use a very lightweight drapey fabric, the skirt will have more drape but the ruffles will be less dynamic. If you want your ruffles to hold their shape, you will want a fabric with more crispness, and also this will make for a fuller skirt.
NOTIONS
Universal or microtex needle, thread, hand sewing needle, 1 yard (0.9 m) of ½” wide (12 mm) wide elastic for waist, scrap of fusible interfacing - approximately 1” x 2” (2.5 cm x 5 cm).
