Trench coat.

The pattern and instructions were very clear and as this coat is the most complicated piece of clothing I have ever attempted, I was very pleased. However, even though I had thought my measurements were accurate, it has turned out a little large. Nonetheless I would recommend this pattern.

This pattern comes together a treat!

Take your time on this pattern and enjoy how beautifully it comes together. Instructions for patterns don’t come any clearer than this. It was a joy to make.

Superb fit first time

This is my first Cashmerette make, I am very impressed with the fit. I made View A in a size 20 with G/H cup size and the toile fit me without any adjustments which never happens for me. Usually I have to do a full bust adjustment even when using patterns with cup size options. The instructions are excellent with very detailed information and great diagrams. I chose a digital print sateen for my coat as I wanted something different than the usual trench coat look. My coat is 3” longer and I made the belt and cuff belts close with buckles because that’s the style I wanted. I get lots of comments and I love my coat!

The Chiltern Trench

This pattern has a lot of pieces. It is not a quick make. You want all aspects of it to look good and professional, so don't rush it. I have always fancied a black trench coat so that is what I am working on. It is a very nice pattern, great instruction book and with patience you will end up with a lovely coat that you will enjoy wearing. Some sections I found it helpful to baste first before machining, but this is because my fabric was slippy. If your fabric slides around you might find this helpful. Very pleased with this pattern.

Love my coat!

This turned out so much better than I was even hoping. I bought this pattern as soon as it came out - I’ve always wanted a trench coat, but I’ve never been brave enough to sew my own. I knew the instructions on a Cashmerette pattern would be detailed and thorough enough that I could do it, so I went for it. This was kind of my practice version, but I love how it turned out and I learned so much from making it, now I have two more planned!
