I have made this dress twice now, once in a slippery peach skin and once in an Oxford cloth. I love both versions. I think the fit is great for plus size ladies. I love that it's got a traditional collar option and how the sleeve is finished with a band. My peach skin version has a gathered skirt and a band collar. My Oxford cloth version has the pleated skirt and traditional collar. I really appreciate how versatile the feel of the dress is from the pattern based on the fabric I chose. Definitely a wardrobe winner for me.
This is the first Lenox I have made, and I'm really pleased with it. It's a lovely dress to wear, the sleeves are a nice length, the two collar options are both really pretty, and pockets, yay pockets! I used a soft rayon, which gives a nice swish through the full skirt. The princess seams are super flattering over the bust, and if you haven't sewn them before, not only are the pattern instructions nice & clear, there is also a sew along online to help. Now for a chambray version...
I've made two of these so far and will be making more, I'm sure. The instructions are very clear and Carrie offered great advice on fit questions. I am much larger through hips and waist than up top and the help I got from Cashmerette on how to alter the pattern was invaluable. I've gotten lots of compliments on this dress!
