Great top!

I really love this top....keep pinching myself that it doesn't require any alterations to the pattern, just cut out and sew my size!!!

Perfect woven tank? Springfield!

I've made several Cashmerette patterns and the Springfield tank does not disappoint. I just love being able to sew things that fit and look great. This is a simple pattern to sew up, quick to sew and with excellent instructions. I used the 10-g size and didn't have to change a thing. Ive made this several times in different fabrics. Great base to start a hack from.

Springfield top on the way to being a wardrobe staple

The Springfield top is quick and easy to make (well illustrated and described instructions included), looks good in several fabric types, and overall has great potential for variations. I made a wearable muslin in a lightweight cotton that looks great (neither clingy nor tent-like) and I wear it often. I did find that the straps were a little too far apart for my narrow shoulders so for the second one (made with rayon this time) I made a 1/2" shoulder adjustment. I'm now in the process of making a third for which I rotated a 1/4" pinch of fabric from the armscye to the bust dart to minimize some gaping, and which will have the fun tulip-petal cross-back that Jenny demonstrated in a recent blog post.

Springfield Top - A summer staple for the wardrobe

I have now made two of the Springfield tops, a different version of each. A pattern without the need for an FBA is a winner for me. PDF pattern was straight forward to put together. Sewing instructions were easy to follow and if you run into trouble there was the back up of the sew along on the website, not that I needed it. I am coming back to sewing after a number of years away. This is a great easy and quick pattern to sew with enough technical detail to make it interesting. A great design for an Australian summer. Thanks Jenny.

Great fit and beginner friendly

As a beginner I would highly recommend this pattern. Very adaptable and simple to sew. Guidance from Cashmerette was readily available resulting in a beautiful custom fit garment.
