I have been looking for a long time for Jeans to make for myself. I am a larger women and patterns in my size are hard to come by. This Pattern was fantastic. The fit is wonderful. The cut is flattering. I am looking forward to making many more in various stretch bottom weight fabrics.
A wonderful pattern because one can choose a pelvis shape and a leg style and customize the jeans to fit as desired. I just made my first pair, graded between 3 sizes and am delighted with how well they went together. The pattern instructions are clear and concise, but I highly recommend signing up for the workshop video. Jenny is an excellent teacher, all of the steps are clearly described and demonstrated, and the tips she gives for what NOT to do are as valuable as the ones she gives for how to do. It was a pleasure sewing along with her.
I really love the pattern, it‘s easy to follow the instruction. The best is the choice between apple and pear pelvis - I chose the pear, no changes needed.
I would like to have an expantion for a bootcut leg.
With jeans/trousers it's difficult to take any pattern and not perform a complete fitting. The Ames pattern offers a limited ability to work with shape, I chose a curvy, but my backside is a funny shape so I had to make several muslins before getting the right shape
