I blindly chose the apple fit and made a muslin of the shorts with a 12" inseam in size ?? (can't remember) for a cruise I was to take this week. Our LQS owner helped me fit the muslin; I deconstructed it for the pattern and made the linen shorts. They fit like a charm!!! I got covid ... cruise has been canceled ... my shorts and pattern are still at the store by my sewing machine. I can't wait to make more pants from this pattern.

Calder Pants
This is a wonderful beginner friendly pattern for pants! The instructions were easy to follow and the technique on sewing in the elastic give the finished garment a professional look.

Lovely wide leg pants pattern
I had to take 9cm out of the rise to make these fit me but now they fit really well. I also simplified the pockets to suit me better but this is a great pattern; easy to follow, easy to adjust and easy to wear!

Extremely comfortable (secret pajamas)
I made a size 18 apple fit and took out a couple inches in the rise. Should probably take another inch or two on the next pair, and there *will* be a next pair because I'm in love with my Calder shorts. I have a very short torso and long-ish legs so I greatly appreciated all of the lengthen/shorten lines as well as the downloadable sew-along. The only criticism that I have is that I would like to know where the crotch should actually fall for them to fit as intended - not just that it should be relaxed, but where on the thigh? Other than that, though, I have only great things to say about these shorts and can't wait to make my next pair, and some pants too, because I don't want to have to take these off!
