Who knew I could love an paper bag waistband? Cashmerette did.
I’ve tried paper bag waistbands in RTW and thought oh no! But leave it to Cashmerette to nail the proportions for my size (18 G/H graded to 20 at waist back to 18). It’s cute but not overwhelming for my 5’3” frame. I love the belt detail.
I made mine out of a wild cherry linen from Fabric-Store.com (IL-019 for those in the know). And paired it with a Thorndike Top from the club for the most perfect jumpsuit. The best part? No stripping half naked to go to the bathroom.
The Everett pocket facing is ingenious. The pants and crotch curve work well for me. I cut the regular pelvis in a straight size 18 and made no height alterations. This was a super fast sew. In about 7 hours I made both the shirt and pants.

A joy
This is a fun shorts pattern to sew. I would like to make it again without the cuffs.

Everette pants and shorts
Fantastic pattern! I rarely make a pattern as soon as it comes out but I gave this one a try and I'm so glad that I did. Went together beautifully and fits perfectly, thank you for including the full bum option! Love the Everette pattern absolutely 5 stars.
