Meet the Meriam Trousers: woven pants you'll actually enjoy wearing! Classic trousers can be pretty uncomfortable if your waist spreads when you sit down—and whose doesn't? But thanks to an innovative flex waistband, the Meriam Trousers keep you comfortable while standing or sitting, without compromising on style and sophistication!

The Meriam has the classic details you love in a trouser: a zip fly with a hidden closure, front slash pockets, straight legs, and optional back welt pockets. But best of all, you'll get a fabulously comfortable fit with a flex waistband that gently expands by 3-4" as you sit down, plus the option of a full bum adjustment piece, already done for you.

This Cashmerette pattern includes:

  • Standard and flex waistband that expands gently as you sit
  • Standard and full bum fit options
  • A guide to taking your measurements and selecting your size
  • A beautifully illustrated and detailed instruction booklet to guide you no matter your sewing level

Meriam trousers

This is a great pattern!
The optional 'full-bum' piece has just completely solved my trouser-fitting problems. And the stretchy waistband that doesn't show is very clever. Quite a few steps to it, but just follow the excellent instructions and you'll be fine. Or you can sew a regular waistband.

Beautifully Crafted Pattern

Cashmerette patterns are very beautifully crafted, with notches and seams that match perfectly. The trousers came together easily. This is the best fitting waistband I have ever had, (and it wasn't even the flex version!). I am a Cashmerette fan!

Loved the pockets

Wanted a nice pair of pants with pockets and ordered this pattern because as a person with large behind and this pattern had a big but adjustment option, and back welt pockets. Instructions for the pockets were clear as were the directions for the flex waistband. The big draw back for me was the length of the crotch seam. Way to long, I ended up needing to take two inches off, and this from someone who usually ends up adding length. Were they supposed to be that long in the crotch?

Super nice pattern!

I bought te Meriam Trousers pattern, and it's all I expected!
Buying trousers that fit, it's like going on a mission impossible: I have a full bum and a tiny waist, no trousers are made for me....
So, I decided to test the meriam trousers, and yes! Finally trousers that fit! I did not have to adjust a lot, so my trousers fitted after the first fitting model.
Very happy here!

Great pattern but difficult construction

I bought the class with the pattern and I don’t think I would have managed to construct the special waistband without it. I had to also do a lot of iterations on the fitting as I’m pretty much a straight line from waist to hips and the weight of the fabric was too much for the elastic so the pants were always kind of dropping from my waist. Still having figured how to solve this issue when carrying my phone in the pocket. Despite all of this I wear this pants ALL THE TIME and will start with my second pair shortly!
