Love this pattern!

I purchased the Tobin pattern in the Thanksgiving sale and have made it five times so far. My toile was a black poly from Joann Fabrics with the cowl neck. I always get compliments when I wear it styled with a big necklace and long cardigan, even though I’m not in love with the fabric. But I used a luscious French terry for four versions of the “sweatshirt” and it’s my uniform these days. Warm, comfortable and so flattering. I purchased Jenny’s “sewing for curves” which helped me figure out a small forward shoulder adjustment and how to lower my dart. Now it’s a perfect TNT pattern!

Tobin sweater

Great pattern! I’ve sewn 3 of these beauties. I did a FBA and found the pattern easy to work with. As with all the Cashmerette patterns I’ve sewn: I feel a boost to my confidence, the moment I slip into one of my garments.

Goes together easily...looks GREAT!

Found the directions easy to follow and straightforward. After cutting the fabric, the pieces went together easily. It is well suited to a variety of fabrics. I made it out of wool blend as well as French Terry sweatshirt fabrics and looks great every time I wear it.

Very easy sew, and great fit.

This went together so smoothly. I will adjust some things for next time ( a bit more length in the body and sleeves as I like a longer length, but the pattern isn’t too short. I opted to make the fold over collar and while I like it, I used a thick fleece and feel like it holds my head up. My “issues” are all based upon choices I made, not on anything in the pattern. I am sure that before the winter is over I will have two or even three new versions of the Tobin! Why it took me so long to print and assemble the pattern is the big mystery as once I got over that hurdle, it was smooth sailing!

The perfect fall/winter sweater

I have made about 6 of these, in various configurations and various fabrics, and they are all wonderfully comfortable! My new go-to pattern for the colder months.
