I made the Springfield after making the Dolman. I really like this top, as it is comfortable in the warm fall weather but will also be wearable as a layering piece when it cools down. I enrolled in the "Pattern Hacks" workshop and the "Fit for Curves" and found both of them to be very helpful. The courses are different but complimentary and the quality of the content is excellent.
I was very happy with the fit of my first Springfield top, I usually have to do a large FBA but was not needed on this pattern, and will be making a few more once I can get out and shop for fabric
My Springfield is size 20 G/H made from quilting cotton with hand finished satin trim. I love this pattern, and as we are going into Australian Spring I can see myself making many more of this versatile style
Being blessed with a large bust, I have never made a shirt pattern that did not involve large amounts of adjustments and result in a finished product that I didn’t really like wearing… until I tried the Springfield. This top has been an absolute game changer for me, I made a muslin with no adjustments and was blown away by how well it fit. I have since made almost a dozen versions, some for summer, some for work, and I just love wearing all of them. Thank you for this pattern!
I love this pattern! The instructions and pdf pattern are great. The range of cup sizes provided is so helpful. The armholes are very well drafted and do not gape or expose your bra band. The ease gives it a lovely swing feel and there is a good amount of room to move. Making it with French seams and French method bias binding produces a very professional finish on the garment. So satisfying! Even in trickier fabrics this top is straightforward to construct. The completed tank top is very cool and comfortable to wear. My search for a well designed unlined tank top is over!
