Lovely pattern, easy to follow instructions. As always cashmerette’s patterns never disappoint me.
I didn’t cut the right size for the first one but my friend was really happy to get it because it didn’t fit me
I am currently making a new one because it is the perfect outfit for autumn.
This very modern skirt pattern reminds me of an absolute favourite denim skirt I had back in my much slimmer days in the 80's. I yearned for another one but because of my 60" hip size and sway back there was no chance, that is until Cashmerette came up with the Ellis skirt. I have to say that it didn't fit "straight out of the packet", but neither did I expect it to and that is no fault of Cashmerette, but due to my uniqueness! I had already successfully made the Ames jeans after spending time making alterations and was so pleased with the fit that I purchased this pattern which needed similar alterations to the pattern on the hip and waist but was a doodle this time and the fit is perfect. I shall be making lots more in varying fabrics and colours to add to my ever growing me made wardrobe (all Cashmerette by the way) as it is so comfortable to wear. Well done Cashmerette for another winner!!
I’m so happy with my lovely new denim skirt, it turned out just how I pictured it in my head. Don’t you love it when that happens?! This was my second time sewing a Cashmerette pattern and I’ve bought a few more on the basis of how well drafted the first two were, how well they come together and such great instructions. Now I’m just crossing my fingers that the next pattern Cashmerette releases is a nicely shaped denim jeans jacket, complete with their perfect cup sizes!
I have made two of these skirts. I was extremely apprehensive as I had never made anything with a fly front before but i followed the sew along for the cashmerette jeans and it turned out beautifully, The skirt fits like a glove and the only alteration that I made was to the length. I would definitely recommend this pattern
