Brookline Maternity T-Shirt
This is the first t-shirt pattern from Cashmerette that I've made. I am impressed!
Normally, I have to do a full bicep, a low round back, a high round back and a swayback adjustment in any bodice. For the swing top, I made NO ADJUSTMENTS! I cannot believe it! On the tighter fitting style top, I did do a 1 inch swayback adjustment, normally I do a 2 inch one on any other brand. I made no other adjustments to that style.
Hands down this is the best fit I have ever achieved in the armscye and sleeve... and I didn't even have to make any adjustments!
I can't recommend this pattern enough for your maternity wardrobe. You can crank these out and use the different sleeve, neckline and bodice variations to make them look different. The swing top will definitely be in my wardrobe post maternity as well. I have even lengthened it into a dress. I will definitely be investing in the nursing add-on pack and the concord t-shirt. This pattern is worth every penny.
The only thing I would change is to have no trim pages, but it is worth the time it takes to trim.
My daughter needed a nice maternity top and this was perfect. Most pregnant girls can go the entire pregnancy never wearing actual maternity tops. Not really so for plus size ladies who might want to be slightly more modest, and already have a tough time finding flattering retail garments that don’t break the bank. I made the 32 E-H. The shoulders were not halfway down her arms, even on this large size. The neck was a tiny bit wide, but that would be extremely easy to fix. Yay! Speaking of arms, she has larger biceps, which is why I went with the larger size. I could have made the top itself smaller but always better to be larger than too small. She wore it yesterday to an event, several weeks further into her pregnancy than when I made it, and I was so happy to see how flattering it was on her! She’ll be able to wear it till the end and beyond. So well drafted! Thanks Jenny, for saving us! Plus size maternity is out there in retail, but unlike normal garment sewing, you WILL SAVE lots of money making your own!
