With jeans/trousers it's difficult to take any pattern and not perform a complete fitting. The Ames pattern offers a limited ability to work with shape, I chose a curvy, but my backside is a funny shape so I had to make several muslins before getting the right shape
I made jeans that fit. First try. Without having to alter the pattern at all. This has never happened. And no one has mentioned them or said ‘did you make that?’ Because they just look like ‘real’ jeans.
I am teaching a jeans making class and selected your Ames Jeans pattern as a pattern choice for the participants. In preparation for the class, I've made 3 pairs and have been very pleased with all aspects of this pattern. The instructions are excellent and include notes for all those little things you need to know when making jeans. I especially appreciate the additional suggestions for sequencing construction to minimize thread changes between top stitching work. I use the chain stitch option on my cover stitch machine as my third machine. Works great for jeans construction!
Gotta love the design, the precision of pattern drafting in this pair of jeans. But the FIT is everything- and the apple or Pear pelvis options are just magic. I made the apple with straight legs and love them.
Best instruction booklet ever, I was able to make these with following steps in booklet and reading the Cashmerette tutorial on topstitching.

Thank you SO much for this pattern.
I love the Ames Jeans printed pattern. The pattern was very well drafted and there was good room in it for my tummy. It's nice to find a jeans pattern which did not need a lot of adjustment to fit me. I will make these again and I don't often make patterns again. Beautiful.
