Love Ames Jeans!!

I LOVE this pattern! Very easy to sew once you get the fit right. So many sewists fear jeans making, but it is very easy, not much different than sewing pants. I did buy the Jeans For Curves, primarily for fitting help. Follow along with Jenny and you’ll have wonderful jeans! Sewing jeans have been taken off my Sewing Bucket List, thanks to Ames Jeans.

The best jeans I've ever worn???

I had never sewn pants that weren't stretchy before, and I gave myself a big challenge by sewing with the most rigid custom printed denim I've ever seen for the Taylor Swift Eras tour (like these pants can stand up on their own, that is how rigid they are). I was nervous because there was a tight deadline and expensive fabric on the line, but these pants came out almost perfect on my first try. The only alteration I needed to make was to make 2 of the tiniest darts to fix some gapping at the back of my waist, but even without them, the pants looked and fit amazingly! I have a very large rear and comparitively small waist so normally store jeans have so much gapping I feel like I can fit a whole other person in the waistband, and this pattern gapped by maybe an inch at most. 10/10 using this pattern to make all of my pants moving forward

Thorough instructions

I made my first pair of jeans using the Ames pattern. I’m so pleased I had also purchased the video instructions as this made it so much easier! I enjoyed the construction process and appreciate the two body shapes included in the drafting.

Loved it!!

So easy to follow and the instructional video made the entire process a snap. I would recommend purchasing the printed pattern and printing it yourself and cutting and pasting it together was a little tedious and time consuming.

Ames jeans

I have had this pattern for years but thought it would be too time consuming to make. I finally did and I have made 2 pair already. The directions are great, and it is a wonderful fit. LIZ

Ames Jeans.

I love these jeans I have replaced all my store bought with the Ames. I have made at least 5 pair. They are much easier than I thought they would be. Directions are very clear.
