Adding on to the review done on November 2022. This is my hands down favorite pattern.
I made three dresses, and another person made the fourth. The dress is beautiful, and I made an organza overlay, which was encased in a waistband that was clasped at the back, which is hidden by the bow.
All of them came out wonderfully, and they looked so pretty! The sleeves were the same organza as the overlay, and I did end up raising the neckline about an inch. I just wanted to share!
I love that it can fit anyone! From the littlest of the young ladies, to our adults.
Really easy to put together!
The skirt though was not done by the pattern. I cut 3 lengths of fabric, 58" wide, so the selvage edges are top to bottom. Cut edge on top was serged to allow for gathering.
the back side, I serged each edge, and sewed up the back till I got to the zipper line. Then, I folded it into half and half again, marked the halves and pinned the front and sides, and then divided each section, then sewed it to the bodice. It makes for a very full waist, and a very full skirt, which can fit over a hoop. The other one, (the one I did not make) was for a smaller person, so they graded the sides a bit, to ease the gathers so it was easier to sew. All four looked wonderful for the reception.
