Perfect dress for me

I have had this pattern for ages and finally made it. It is wonderful. I made a straight 18G and used an ITY from Telio. Instructions were clear and it went together quickly for me. The fit was good. It’s comfortable and easy to wear. I had no issues with the front neckline coming open or being to loose. I will make it again!

Fabulous dress and pattern!

I’ve already made a second one because the dress was so easy to make and fit so well.
I’m impressed with the clarity of the instructions as well as the pattern design and layout. I’m a sewist from way back and recently have found that the big-name patterns have cheaped out on design and instructions. It used to be that instructions would include some tips so you could improve your skills. Not any more. In fact, some big-name pattern makers have omitted instructions and if I weren’t experienced I would have been lost and probably given up.
Thanks to Jenny Rushmore and Cashmerette, I’ve rediscovered the joy of making my own clothes. This is the first-ever Cashmerette pattern for me AND my first-ever knit fabric pattern. I’m hooked!
I think my successes have inspired some friends, too!
I made a size 14/16 C/D.
The dress is super flattering and I’ve received lots of compliments.
I made the first dress expressly for a long-haul flight to Italy. I wanted something comfortable in a natural fibre, in a fabric that wouldn’t show dirt, that would be cool in hot weather, that would be flattering and wouldn’t require ironing. Not much to ask! I now have two dresses that for the description and I’ll have to choose.

Can't wait to wear my new dress

I've just made my first Appleton in a leopard print double brushed poly and it's divine. After lengthening the bodice, my first mockup fitted perfectly and the instructions were clear. The only thing I'd change on the pattern is to add a "cut here to lengthen" line on the bodice as I wasn't sure where to make the alteration.

I already reviewed this, but I'm being prompted to review again, so. . .

. . . The pattern is good. It makes a nice quality dress. I made it somewhere around the 10 range for upper bust, G cup, and 14 waist and hip. Now that I've had a chance to wear both versions I made, I do think it looks way more flattering on some of the other women than it does on me. I'll have to pin it, as the wind really likes to play under that front flap and give onlookers a free show. I lengthened it to slightly below knee length because at or just above the knee is not a length that flatters me.
The neckline is a good quality, the customer service and sizing help was perfection, and the directions are clear and easy to follow. Sewing is always a challenge for me because I never know if the style will flatter my form until it's been made, and sometimes adaptations are not possible or are not worth the time and frustration of unpicking and winging it.

Would I make it again? Maybe not for my body. Would I recommend it to others? Sure.

It's a good pattern.

Finally

The pattern was clear, sizing was spot on, help was readily available, and I'm pleased with the outcome. Also, the wrapover is generous enough to cover and protect against exposure from stiff breezes, but not so voluminous as to invite my preschooler to tent under it.

The finished dress...fits beautifully. I thought hard before buying--there are other patterns out there that cost less--but after giving this a try, I'm convinced it's worth every penny and more. Acarefully developed and tested pattern that doesn't end up wasting my bamboo terry fabric is worth its weight in gold.
