What a great pattern! I'm a beginning sewer with only a few completed garments under my belt, and I had no trouble with this dress's construction or fit. I really need to buy more Cashmerette patterns! I also recommended Appleton to a newbie friend--I would indeed recommend it to any sewer.
I really liked how easy this pattern was to follow on the tutorial. Plus I was able to access the sew along on the website and that helped me tremendously! There will be some tweaks that I will do next time. I cut it too short for my liking so I will leave it a little longer. And I will lower the strap hole as it sits way too high and I cannot find it without having someone help me.
I have never has such amazing success on my first muslin. Fits amazingly. I love this pattern and found the sew along very helpful to follow. I would highly recommend.
This is a great pattern! The only adjustment that I needed to make was to grade from a size 16 bodice to a size 20 hips. I've made it three times and have fabric for at least one more. I'm a beginner sewist - the instructions are very clear, my dresses turned out great and I feel wonderful when I wear them.
Loved it! Clear instructions, great fit. I made it in stretch velvet and the simplicity of the construction really works with the fabric. As a result it is not only comfortable but also very chique looking.
