This pattern is amazing. It's so easy to get the perfect fit with the number of sizes & cups available. The instructions are clear (and if you get stuck, there's a sewalong on the blog!). I couldn't recommend this pattern enough if you're curvy and looking for a classic "true" wrap dress!
I made two Appleton's in one week! Instructions were great and the sewalong made it even easier. We had an award dinner to go to and my second version I made in two days. I added stretch lace to the neckbands, belt and sleeves. I drafted an A-line maxi skirt that I matched to the waist line and hip notches on the original pattern and it turned out great! I received many compliments through the night!
I’m so excited to make this dress. Finally a pattern that will fit my curvy shape. I will send a picture when it’s finished.
I am a beginner sewist and the appleton is the first garment I have sewn that I will actually wear in public. That says a LOT. The instructions along with the online tutorial made the construction a breeze. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!
I get so many compliments on my dress. I made it with a material you'd use for leggings, so it has a lot of spandex. The construction is straightforward and clever, particularly the neckband. My only slight issue is that there are no pockets. I'll have to add some next time.
