I did make this pattern I received compliments from friends. Jenny I have so enjoyed your club learning so much. I am 73 and retired have been sewing since I was 10. Right now I am working on view b just finished watching the video going from larger waist to smaller hip. Love all you directions.

Gorgeous pattern

I have tried ready to wear Bomber jackets in the past and decided they are not for the large chested! However I decided to give the Kimball a go as soon as I saw it! Partly because the choice of fabrics really appealed in the pictures the jaquard and quilted styles look so good!
My warbrobe was also seriously lacking a shorter jacket, I'm so glad I went for it as its my new favorite item of clothing! I used a gorgeous quilted fabric for the body and arms and was worried it would be to thick but its worked really well! The only thing I would change is not binding all the Seams on the thicker fabric as they are a little bulky in places the inside definitely isn't perfect and I might lengthen the arms of I make another! but I had to squeeze it from the fabric I had so this wasn't an option this time! I though it would be more complicated than it was to sew but the instructions were fantastic if your wondering whether to give it a go I definitely recommend it!

Great jacket

I didn’t know I needed a bomber jacket until the Kimball was released! I love my wearable toile, it’s the perfect length to go with dresses. I.l make another, slightly longer version to go with trousers.

Love this so much!

I was a little intimidated to make this jacket, but I decided that I wanted to keep up with the Club patterns as they came out, so I took a breath and jumped in!
First of all, this was hands down the best quality PDF pattern I have used, and I have been downloading and printing for years. I love that if you have your measurements, you know exactly which pages you will need to print of the pattern. I started using PDFs to save money and space, and it saves even more money when you don't have to print a bunch of pages for options and sizes you don't need. I love the background grid, that makes it so much easier to know that everything is lined up before taping it together. I also love how the pattern is assembled in units, so I don't have a massive piece of printer papers to tape together and trace, I can just put together the body, facings and sleeves separately.
I love the instructions. They are simple enough that they are not scary, but they also emphasize which parts really need to be right by telling you to take them and and do them over if they don't come out right. I can't tell you how many times I have finished other projects with mistakes that add up at the end, and it is too hard to fix them, so things look weird.
This was my first time doing zippered pockets, and quilting sleeves, but I just followed the instructions and they came out beautiful. This was also the best separating zipper insertion I have ever done, and I credit that to the combination of simple instructions, and the separate facings.
I love the fit of this jacket, and the way it looks. Even better, I was able to use all fabric from my stash. This is a great piece to add to my wardrobe, and I think it was a perfect kickoff to the Club.

As expected

I haven't had a bomber jacket for many years - but now I have. My sister admired it, so now she has one too. My only problem with it was the front zip - comes of buying on-line - I think the ones I bought were a bit heavy for the fabric I used. I did not quilt the sleeves. I added an FBA to mine but not to my sister's one, and found her pockets were anchorable to the front facing, which is better than mine which are a bit floppy. Still, you are bound to get that with one size pocket for many different sizes. Easy pattern - fits - as expected with Cashmerette patterns.

Delightful pattern

This pattern is a wonderful skill-stretcher. It's actually fairly simple if you take your time, and follow the instructions, which are beautifully written. Be sure to do a toile first. It takes fairly little fabric and is a lot of fun to make. Best of all, the jacket is absolutely fabulous, with great fit and style. You will want to make more than one.
